Also the author of Wanting: The Power of Mimetic Desire in Everyday Life, Burgis is an entrepreneur and educator whose work explores the hidden forces that shape human desire, identity, and technology. With an eye toward lessons for law students and lawyers, in particular, Burgis will talk with law professor Kevin Walsh about forming a solid self who can act with integrity and courage in real communion with others, rather than a fragmented self who is easier to coopt and manipulate.
